Chennayin FC Vs Bengaluru FC Review Thread. #ISL

Chennayin setup on their usual 4-4-2 counter attacking system. Whereas BFC setup in a almost similar 4-3-3 system. Both teams game plan was to counter and score in the transition. #ISL

BFC setup was bit weird with bheke playing as a CB. Ashique and Khabra as full backs. Suresh and Paartalu was DMs. But Dimas was a floating one. Essentially when they are defending they have got 7-8 players back and compact. #ISL

Their main game plan was to win the transition even though they had the ball more. Also be very physical so that chennayin never settles into their grove and they achieved that. Also this game showed ashique can play as a CB in future seasons (hooray) #ISL

Chennayin lost their entire balance on the right wing. Which is their most lethal wing even though Chhangtte plays on left. When Thappa went of Injured. Thapa used to give that extra protection for Reagan which Edwin failed to do. Also Edwin failed to link up well with Esma.

Chennayin left wing was always a problem but they have dealt with it by Tangri who had another good game helping out Jerry. Jerry coming in also helped. Cleitaon played in the Right wing in the first half which helped chennayin real good. #ISL

Both teams where creating chances on the counters but finishing was really below par. BFC has their set pieces also which is a very lethal weapon of theirs. Chennayin did failed to defend some of those well but BFC were unable to capitalize. #ISL

Second half Cleitaon started switching flanks and they got the penalty from that. And Edwin is the one conceded it. Shows how reliant Chennayin is to Thappa. After the goal chennayin were rattled a bit. And BFC dominated for few phases of play. Vishal was great. Score stayed 1-0

Crivellaro was still the creator in chennayin. But this is a major weaknesses for them. Bcoz teams kind of man mark him to reduce his effectiveness. Against KBFC Cido did. Here Suresh did. Suresh is a really good player. He did it perfectly. #Isl

Chennayin still had their chances. They could have finished those off. The fair result is a draw. But chennayin didn't finish it off. Also were denied a penalty which was a pen. Esma taken off and Fathku coming in added some pace. But he scuffed his chances. #ISL

Now referee again had a very bad game. He not only got the pen decision wrong. Whole through the game he failed to control the game. Lot of 50-50s were going BFC way. All these adds up in a game. Chennayin got some too. But the standard of refereeing has to improve a lot. Now that Vishal Kaith save simply great. He was real good yesterday. For these great FKs from BFC. I want to see all their players including GK make false runs and one take the FK before this season ends. That would be really entertaining. #ISL

The rumours are Thappa is out for some time. I don't know what chennayin will do to replace him. It is sad that some of my favourite Indian players are getting sidelined. They may have to ditch this system altogether if thapa is not playing. #ISL

Also the commentator said this two teams are the only teams to have Indian scorers. I think Manvir is from another country then. #ISL
